Discuss Your Application

Explore Products by Application

Begin with the market or setting your product is intended for. Each application highlights the design questions that matter in that context and connects you with relevant product directions. Product suitability, material requirements and supporting evidence are assessed against the specific project.

IP & Character Merchandise

Develop merchandise around customer-authorized character artwork. Consider the silhouette, separate color areas, molded details and graphic placement, together with the way the finished item will be presented.

Product formats to consider: Character-shaped items, decorative accessories and collectible merchandise.

Define the Requirements for Your Application

The intended use gives a custom product its design requirements. Defining the points below helps connect the product’s appearance with its geometry, material preferences and manufacturing needs.

Intended User and Use

Describe who will use the product, what it needs to do and how it will be handled. Include the object it supports or fits around, and any relevant contact or operating conditions.

Size and Fit

Identify overall dimensions, capacity or available space. For fitted products, provide the dimensions or reference item needed to review openings, contact areas and assembly interfaces.

Material and Feel

State any preferred material, hardness, flexibility or surface feel. These preferences need to be considered with the intended use, supporting documentation and any performance requirements defined for the project.

Colors and Artwork

Provide brand colors, logos or artwork, and identify which details matter most. Distinguish molded color areas from surface graphics so their placement and manufacturing route can be evaluated.

Components and Assembly

Explain whether the molded part needs to connect with another item or include additional components. Matching dimensions, attachment features and the assembled form should be considered together.

Packaging and Presentation

Describe whether the product will be packed individually, grouped into a set or presented as branded merchandise. The packaging format should account for the product’s shape and any assembled components.

Choose the Right Development Support

The information you already have determines where development begins. Haotian supports projects at the concept stage as well as products defined by drawings or specifications.

Start with an Idea or Reference

If the product still needs to be defined, our design, 2D and 3D modeling, structural optimization and prototyping services can help develop the concept. Shape, visual details and component relationships can be considered before production tooling is made.

Work from Drawings or Specifications

If you have drawings, technical specifications or an approved product concept, the project can begin with a manufacturing review. Tooling, sampling, molding, decoration and agreed finishing requirements are then considered around the defined product.

Development and Manufacturing Resources

Our product design and engineering resources work alongside our own mold workshop, which supports mold making, modifications and maintenance. We can also coordinate molding with artwork decoration, assembly and custom packaging, helping customers address connected requirements within the same project.

Questions About Product Applications

What if my application is not listed?

The categories are a starting point for selecting a product direction. If your concept serves another use, describe the task, intended user, relevant dimensions and use conditions. Haotian can review the brief to assess the proposed design and manufacturing requirements.

Can one product concept be considered for more than one application?

A concept may be relevant to several markets, but each proposed use needs its own assessment. The user, contact conditions, fit or packaging may change between applications. Requirements established for one use should be reviewed before the design is extended to another.

Can the same artwork be adapted to different product formats?

Artwork can be reviewed for use across different formats. Product size, surface shape, available detail and the selected molding or decoration process may require changes to the layout. Character and brand assets should be supplied with the authorization needed for the proposed project.

What should be reviewed if the intended use changes during development?

Review the existing geometry, material requirements, component interfaces, artwork and packaging against the revised use. Any performance or market requirements also need to be reconsidered. A sample evaluated for the earlier brief may need further review before it supports the changed application.
