Capabilities for Developing and Manufacturing Your Product

The capabilities below address different parts of custom product development. Select a capability to understand its scope and the design requirements involved. The combination used for a project depends on the product, material, artwork and any associated components.

Design & Prototyping

Our design support covers product design, 2D and 3D modeling, structural optimization and prototyping. These services help evaluate the proposed geometry, appearance and component relationships before production tooling, while design changes can still be considered.

In-House Mold Making

Our own mold workshop supports production-tool development, modifications and maintenance. Tooling requirements are considered against the proposed design, with changes and upkeep discussed for product updates, continued production and repeat orders.

Multi-Color Molding

For designs with distinct molded color areas, we can evaluate integrated multi-color molding against the product shape and artwork. The review considers color boundaries, dimensional details and formed logos to identify a feasible approach for the intended appearance.

Dispensing Molding

Dispensing molding can be evaluated for detailed, multi-color product elements. Artwork separation, deposited material details, tooling and samples need to be considered together, with suitability assessed against the proposed design.

Overmolding

We can evaluate forming silicone, PVC or rubber features around another component where technically suitable. The proposed component interfaces, retention, coverage area, tooling and assembly requirements guide the assessment.

In-Mold Transfer Printing

Transferred artwork can be evaluated for integration during molding. Artwork preparation, placement and finish are considered alongside product geometry and compatibility with the selected molding process.

Printing & Decoration

Screen printing, pad printing and laser engraving are among our confirmed decoration options. We can review logo and artwork placement, surface suitability and graphic details to assess an appropriate method for the product.

Assembly & Packaging

Assembly and customized packaging can be coordinated around the finished product requirements. This includes combining molded parts with agreed components and discussing packing formats, product presentation and packaging requirements as part of the project.

Matching Manufacturing Methods to Product Requirements

A manufacturing approach needs to account for the details that matter in the finished product. Before selecting tooling and processes, we can review the proposed design and consider how its structure, appearance and assembly requirements affect production.

Product Geometry and Structure

Shape, dimensions, thickness and structural details provide the starting point for review. Drawings, models or reference samples help define the intended form. Where the concept needs further development, structural optimization and prototypes can support decisions before tooling.

Color Areas and Artwork

Identify which visual features should be formed in the product and which require surface graphics. Distinct color regions, raised details and logo placement can call for different manufacturing or decoration methods. Sharing the artwork and the features that matter most helps make those decisions specific.

Component Interfaces and Fit

For a design that fits around, connects to or incorporates another component, the matching geometry needs to be defined. Coverage areas, retaining features, access openings and assembly relationships are relevant to assessing the proposed construction.

Material and Intended Use

Silicone, PVC and rubber are evaluated against the requirements of the individual project. The intended use, requested hardness and any material or performance requirements should be included in the brief. A listed capability does not establish that every material and process combination is suitable.

Assembly and Packaging Requirements

Define the required components and finished packing format while the product is being developed. Product dimensions, component arrangement and packaging presentation need to work together, particularly where several parts will be supplied as one finished item or set.

Questions About Developing Your Product

Do I need complete drawings before discussing a project?

You can begin with an idea, artwork or a reference. The development work needed will depend on how much of the concept has already been defined and what still needs to be resolved before tooling, including the product geometry and component relationships.

Does every project require all eight capabilities?

No. A project uses the capabilities relevant to its design and finished product requirements. A single molded part and a decorated product with several assembled components may need different combinations. Material and process suitability must be evaluated for the proposed construction.

Is production mold making the same as supplying custom silicone molds?

Production mold making concerns the tooling used to manufacture a product. Custom silicone molds are flexible mold products developed around a specified cavity shape and intended casting or forming use. If the mold itself is the product you want to source, see custom silicone molds.
